Construction Details
This Removable soft pads will consist of a 1” thick Alpha Temp-Mat insulation with a nominal density of 11 lb/ft³, composed of 100% E-glass fibers mechanically needled without chemical binders. This insulation is rated for continuous service up to 1200°F (649°C) and complies with ASTM C-1086-96, MIL-I-16411 Type II, and ASTM E-84 flame resistance standards (Flame Spread: 0, Smoke Developed: 0).
The insulation is covered on both the inner and outer layers with Alpha Maritex Style 1700-S fiberglass fabric, a satin-weave fiberglass coated with gray dry silicone rubber. This fabric is flame retardant, flexible, UV resistant, and performs in temperatures ranging from -67°F to +500°F (-55°C to +260°C).
Blankets are stitched using PTFE-coated fiberglass sewing thread, which does not burn or support combustion, and is rated for -400°F to +600°F (-240°C to +315°C). These threads are also resistant to moisture, acids, alkalis, and fungal growth.
Each blanket includes a hook-and-loop Velcro fastening system, plus adjustable straps made from the same silicone-coated fiberglass fabric, secured with metal D-rings for added durability.

DESCRIPTION: Alpha Maritex Style 1700-S is a fiberglass fabric coated with a specially formulated dry silicone rubber. This special high temperature, flame retardant silicone rubber provides greater life and improves resistance to abrasion, tear and puncture and increases flexibility.

DESCRIPTION: ALPHA TEMP-MAT is manufactured to conform with the requirements of Military Specification MIL-1-16411 Type II, ASTM-C-1086-96 and Coast Guard Specification for Incombustible Materials #164.009 and MIL-I-24244. TEMP-MAT is a fiberglass mat composed of 100% “E” type glass fibers 9-13 microns ln diameter which are put into web form and mechanically needles together without chemical binders.
ADVANTAGES: ALPHA TEMP-MAT is an effective low-cost replacement for asbestos mats, millboard, ceramic or refractory fiber paper, mat and sheets and mineral fiber boards. It is used as a thermal insulation and gasket material in home and industrial furnaces, package boiler and for special piping applications where heat resistance, flexibility and low special air and liquid chemical and thermal resistance are mandatory, such as sizing, material, care and cleaning instructions.
